Unique White Wines to Try This Spring

As the weather's warming up, it's time to start cooling down with light and refreshing white wines! Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay tend to get the most attention, so I'm sharing my five favorite under the radar white wines to keep your wine rack fresh this season!

My spring picks are also a sneak peek into some of the delicious white wines that will be featured in the Wine Club this spring and summer! Be sure to get in on the Wine Club now so you don't miss out on the deliciousness!

Wildflower Winery Viognier

The Viognier grape comes from France's Rhone Valley and is known for its fuller body and tropical and floral aromas - it's the definition of springtime! Wildflower Winery is female-owned and operated and sustainably farmed, and their "A Little Something" Viognier is fermented on native yeast. This gives it a uniquely textured body, bright acidity, and delicious juicy peach and apricot flavors with a touch of honeysuckle. Pair this with creamy, buttery cheeses, mild curries or noodle dishes, or sweet root vegetables.

Terratorium Winery Dry Riesling

Dry Rieslings are crisp and refreshing, and full of lemon, lime, and apricot flavors, without being sweet! This one from Terratorium Wines comes from the Santa Lucia Highlands and draws you in sip after sip. If you're not sold on Riesling yet, this bottle will absolutely change your mind! Pair it with fresh crab and shrimp, grilled fish, goat cheese, or grilled chicken.

Ridgecrest Winery Pinot Gris

In addition to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Oregon's Willamette Valley is known for a third grape: Pinot Gris! When you try Ridgecrest's Old Vine Estate Pinot Gris you'll immediately know why: it has crisp green apple and pear flavors, minerality, and nice acidity, all balanced by soft floral notes. Sip this one on a warm spring day on it's own, or pair it with creamy cheeses, seared fish, or oven roasted chicken!

Barnard Griffin Albariño

The Albariño grape hails from Spain's coastal Rias Baixas region and its light body, fresh acidity, and hint of salinity makes it a quintessential warm weather wine. Barnard Griffin's Albariño comes from Washington's Columbia Valley and has flavors of peach, pineapple, grapefruit, and green apple, and it's incredibly crisp and delicious! Pair this Albariño with coastal cuisine like fish tacos and ceviche, or with leafy green vegetables.

Damsel Cellars Marsanne

The Marsanne grape is commonly grown in France's Rhone Valley, but is less frequently found in the US. Damsel Cellars, another female-owned operated winery, produces a single varietal Marsanne from Washington's Yakima Valley and it's an absolute must-try! It has delicious pear, apricot, and citrus flavors and smooth, full body. Pair this one with shrimp dishes, Thai, or Vietnamese cuisine.

For these bottles to your doorstep, join my Wine Club! And because wine is meant to be shared with friends, you can gift a membership to the Club as well. Learn more about the Wine Club here!

Cheers!
