Didn't Make it to Italy this Summer? Here Are 5 Wines that Will Transport You to Italian Wine Country!

There's nothing dreamier than exploring Italian wine country in the summertime, but if you didn't make it to Italy this year, I have you covered! Here are my five favorite Italian and Italian-style wines that will make you feel like you're vacationing on the Italian Riviera! We'll be sipping some of these AMAZING bottles in the Wine Club next month, join us to get them to your doorstep!

Benito Ferrara Greco di Tufo

Greco di Tufo is one of my favorite wines to sip on a warm afternoon! It's a crisp, medium body white wine from Campania, Italy with bright stone fruit and citrus flavors guaranteed to keep you feeling refreshed. This one by Benito Ferrara has fragrant white peach, grapefruit, and white floral notes on the nose, and pear, apricot, pineapple, and lemon flavors on the palate. Pair it with seafood dishes, caprese salad, or margarita pizza!

Avivo Vermentino

This bright, refreshing Vermentino made from grapes sourced from Lodi, CA is an absolute treat! Avivo's Vermentino has fresh melon, green apple, tart pear, grapefruit, and lime flavors alongside bright minerality and a long, dry finish. It can't help but invite you in for another sip! Pair it with goat cheese, fresh vegetables, chicken dishes, prosciutto and melon, salad, fresh shellfish, and Vietnamese or Thai cuisine.

Prima Materia Nebbiolo

This Nebbiolo by Prima Materia gives the best of both worlds: it has the classic Barolo and Barbaresco tannin but with moderate California acidity. It's full of bright cranberry, rose, cinnamon, and pepper flavors, and has warm earthy notes that will turn to truffle, leather, and dark mineral goodness when the wine is aged. Pair this one with brie cheese, creamy pasta, or ribeye steak, and be sure to decant it for at least an hour before sipping it! We'll be featuring this wine in our October Club release, join us to get this bottle to your doorstep in a few weeks!

Banfi Brunello di Montalcino

Castello Banfi's Brunello di Montalcino is made from Sangiovese grapes grown in Tuscany and aged for four years before release making it rich, complex, and an absolute stunner! It's full of lovely plum, ripe blackberry, blueberry, and tart red cherry flavors, alongside savory notes of baking spice, cigar box, leather, smoke, and vanilla. Pair it with rich, creamy risotto, lamb ragu, or parmesan cheese. It's absolutely a splurge-worthy bottle!

Omega Road Winery Barbera

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Barbera is versatility - it's delicious on its own, pairs well with a wide range of foods, and it's perfect to sip across all seasons! Omega Road's Barbera from Mendocino, CA is full of cherry and raspberry flavors complemented by notes of black pepper, oregano, and a hint of lavender. This bottle is ideal for pairing with dishes highlighted by mushroom, truffle, and gamey meat. Wine Club members, this gem is on its way in your September Club shipment!

To bring my wine recommendations to life, join my Wine Club!
